John Randolph

This 1804/1805 portrait of John Randolph (of Roanoke) by Gilbert Stuart hangs in the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.
John Randolph, 1804/1805, thirty-two-year-old Virginia orator whose remarkably youthful appearance belied his position as the most forceful member of the federal Congress. -- Virtualology

A reproduction of this portrait appears in Elmo Scott Watson's 1930 news article The Strangest American.
