Lafayette



This 1976 statue of Lafayette by Gary Siegel stands in the town of Havre De Grace, named that by General Lafayette.
"Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette (6 September 1757 – 20 May 1834), in the U.S. often known simply as Lafayette, was a French aristocrat and military officer who fought for the United States in the American Revolutionary War. A close friend of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Thomas Jefferson, Lafayette was a key figure in the French Revolution of 1789 and the July Revolution of 1830." -- Wikipedia


To all those who have risked their lives for liberty and freedom this statue is dedicated.
 Erected as a Bicentennial project for the city of Havre de Grace by the Joseph L. Davis Post No. 47 American Legion and the Havre De Grace Bicentennial committee November, 1976, Gary Siegel - Sculptor.
