George Washington



This 1859 painting of George Washington by Rembrandt Peale, after Robert Edge Pine, hangs in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.

“...by a later hand reproducing the original signature, lower right” -- NGA
This painting is one of two Washington Portraits in the furniture display at the National Portrait Gallery, the other one by Gilbert Stuart. The ormolu clock is also a Washington portrait.
